Iron chelates

Anyone know if the big 55 Gal drums that once contained iron chelates are ok to rinse out and store water in? The info I have found is unclear to me.

Re: Iron chelates

Chelated Iron, I would say no. But, thats not just because its against the law. Chance of residue residing is good.(meaning bad) If guaranteed not potable, could be doable. Is a dark green soluble liquid fertilizer. I actually use to get a quicker greenup when spraying commercial properties (turf areas) In Va would be classified as a pesticide, though it really isnt. Just liquid iron. If you have access to others ( do not know how you could, but...) need to be careful some of those liquids in 55 gal drums are VERY toxic.
